Conventional systems are often not suitable for the reliable and safe storage of solid, liquid or gaseous substances, which can lead to premature corrosion, leaks and safety problems. Flexibility is also an important requirement: tanks must adapt to different sizes and types of substrates and meet local conditions.
Advantages of the double seam system
- Smooth surface without protrusions
- Maximum tightness
- Automated, efficient on-site production
- Low installation and investment costs
- Requires minimal installation space
- High resistance to static and dynamic loads
- Available materials: stainless steel, VERINOX® or galvanized/black steel
- Flexible choice of lining material
- Low maintenance costs
Technical characteristics of the double seam system
- Diameter: variable, from 5 to 50 m
- Height: variable, from 3 to 35 m
- Volume: from 100 to 10,000 m³ (other sizes available on request)
Available materials
- VERINOX® stainless steel– duplex material made of galvanized steel on the outside and stainless steel, e.g. 1.4301 [304], 1.4571 [316Ti] or 1.4539 [904L], on the inside.
- Stainless steel – e.g. 1.4301 [304] or 1.4571 [316Ti]
- Galvanized/black steel
Storage media
Suitable for solid, liquid or gaseous media such as sewage and landfill gas, biogas, sewage sludge, sugar beet, bulk goods, etc.
- PH range:3 to 13 (further information available on request)
Reliability and durability
The double seam system has stood the test of time and has been used for over 55 years worldwide, winning numerous awards. The system works by double-folding the edges of the steel strips, connecting them so that aggressive substances inside the tank have no surface to attack. This provides protection against corrosion and maximum tightness.
